It's time to start focusing on the 2027 recruiting class now that everything's pretty much wrapped up on the 2026 front. Though there have been lots of rumors surrounding Quentin Hale, one of the Longhorns' top WR targets for 2027 and his Friday commitment, it looks like he's officially down to Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, and USC.
The 6'3", 180-pound pass-catcher is currently ranked as the No.7 overall wide receiver in the 2027 cycle, and he's seemingly gaining more and more hype every day. His ability to pluck balls out of the air with ease due to his above-average leaping ability and body control at the catch point is what separates him from most of the other receivers in the class.

He's not going to "wow" with his speed, but he's a much more technically mature player than what you typically see at the prep level. He's a good enough route-runner to possibly see action as a true freshman, especially at the intermediate level of the field.
Hale also knows how to use his body to his advantage as a blocker, and shows great effort throughout each rep. This is one of the more underrated parts of his game, and something that teams have been starting to catch on to over the past few months.
He projects to be a stationary "X" receiver at the next level to due his overall size and skillset. This is exactly the type of player that Texas is looking for and will be happy to have on the roster once Cam Coleman leaves for the NFL as soon as 2027.
Longhorns WR Coach Chris Jackson has done an excellent job in Hale's recruitment so far, and Texas hopes to gain his commitment on Friday.
