Dreams came true Thursday night as the Texas Longhorns secured their second-straight Women's College World Series title.

After the victory, bringing home the Horns' second straight National Championship, head coach Mike White couldn't hold back his emotions as tears came to his eyes while talking about just how special this team was to him.

"Resilience, hard work, and believing in one another. They did this for one another," White said in a postgame interview. "Back-to-back... we always talk about leaving the jersey in a better place, a legacy, and you can definitely say they've left the jersey in one tough place to follow."

White's entire career was leading up to the last two seasons, quite literally. His poise and leadership reached their peak (so far) last season, and returned to that elite level of coaching this season, pushing the Horns to their back-to-back National Championships.

Mike White and Gerry Glasco's differences were apparent as ever in National Championship

White's love for this team and his players was on full display, as he celebrated alongside them and applauded their success.

That was in stark contrast to the Texas Tech Red Raiders', who the Longhorns bested for a second straight year in the WCWS, head coach Gerry Glasco.

Over the last two years, and especially during this offseason, Glasco's less-than-gentle coaching techniques were on full display.

From berating star pitcher Nijaree Canady to hanging his head in defeat with two innings of at-bats still in front of his team, Glasco was the polar opposite of White, and the results speak for themselves.

While Glasco was busy throwing his hands up, White was giving his players exactly what they needed: support and a show of pride in their effort.

That was especially true when it came to Texas star pitcher Teagan Kavan, who White couldn't stop praising after her clutch sixth- and seventh-inning performance.

"When she came in, and she smelled the win, she was not giving that up," White said of Kavan. "She was a killer. An assassin on the mound out there today and... shut the door so hard, and you've just gotta take your hat off to a kid like that, who can do that in this situation."
