Texas Football Life, a prominent entity of the high school football world in the Lone Star State, just released it's preseason awards list. It features multiple Texas Longhorn commits in the 2026 class, including the early favorite for player of the year, 5-star ATH Jermaine Bishop.

ATH Jermaine Bishop - TFL Player of the Year

The blue-chip athlete figures to be a wide receiver for the Longhorns but there's apparently a slight chance that he'll play a little bit of cornerback for Texas as well.

OG John Turntine III - 1st-Team Offense

Turntine is currently the team's top-rated offensive line commit in the 2026 class, and he could play either offensive tackle or guard for Texas. He has the body type of an OT but the play style of an OG.

OG Nicolas Robertson - 1st-Team Offense

Robertson is an underrated offensive guard recruit right now. He's got the potential and skillset to be one of the Longhorns' top depth players along the offensive line at multiple spots going forward.

S Yaheim Riley - 2nd-team Defense

The 3-star safety is definitely talented but he'll most likely be a developmental player for DC Pete Kwiatkowski and Co. early on his career.

P Mikey Bukauskas - 2nd-Team Punter

Bukauskas is the nation's No.2-ranked P in the 2026 class and looks to battle for the starting job as a true freshman next season alongside Gehrig Heil.

WR Kohen Brown - Honorable Mention Offense

The 3-star recruit on 247sports is actually ranked as a 4-star on Rivals.com right now, and he's seemingly rising up recruiting boards. The Longhorns might have to do their best to keep other schools from flipping him during the 2025 regular season.

WR Chris Stewart - Honorable Mention Offense

Stewart has been a productive player as a high schooler, but he'll most likely be a developmental guy for Texas. Similar to how Yaheim Riley might be on defense for the Horns.

OT Max Wright - Honorable Mention Offense

Wright has excellent size and measurables for the position and has been fairly dominant at the pre-level despite "only" being a 3-star. It wouldn't be surprising to see Wright in the 3-deep as a true freshman in 2026.

DE/LB Kosi Okpala - Honorable Mention Defense

The Longhorns were extrememly happy to gain the commitment of Okpala on 7/3. He has the ability to play with his hand in the dirt as an edge rusher or as an off-ball linebacker in Texas' defensive scheme.
