According to On3's Pete Nakos, legitimate sources have said that despite Ryan Wingo going down early with a thumb injury against the Vanderbilt Commodores this weekend, it doesn't appear that he'll miss time.

Wingo left the game shortly after his 75-yard touchdown in the 1st quarter, and never ended up re-entering the game though Steve Sarkisian said that he could've in case of an injury.

The exact injury itself is unknown, but we're assuming that he might have either hyperextended it or jammed it following his second reception. Those injuries tend to be painful, but ultimately easy enough to work through. It also helps that the Longhorns are on the bye this week before taking on the Georgia Bulldogs on November 15th.

Wingo should have more than enough time to heal up before taking on one of their toughest 2025 opponents yet.

Longhorn Nation can now breathe a huge sigh of relief as Wingo would be an extremely hard offensive piece to replace going forward.
