Trevor Goosby was part of the 2023 Longhorn recruiting class, where he was ranked as the 34th-best offensive tackle and received a three-star rating from Melissa, Texas. In his true freshman year, he faced off against the Rice Owls and the Kansas Jayhawks in limited action.
However, it was during his redshirt freshman year last season that he truly made a name for himself. He started at left tackle when Kelvin Banks suffered an ankle sprain during the game against Texas A&M, marking his official debut as a starter at left tackle in the SEC Championship against the Georgia Bulldogs. He had another opportunity to start when Texas' right tackle Cameron Williams was sidelined during the CFP Quarterfinal in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl against the Arizona State. He also saw some playing time in the CFP semifinals against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Update: Trevor Goosby left staff members in awe in summer workouts when he was clocked at 21 MPH on the GPS. @GoosbyTrevor

Goosby is listed at 6-foot-7 and 309 pounds 🤯
The belief inside the building is that Goosby could emerge as a guaranteed first-round pick if he plays at… pic.twitter.com/JsD2YdIRZm
In 15 games with 2 starts, he was involved in 256 pass blocking snaps, in which he allowed no QB hits, no sacks, and only 3 QB pressures. He is notable as the only SEC offensive tackle who did not allow any QB hits or sacks in the 2024 season. Furthermore, he boasts impressive statistics despite having only played a limited number of games.
Standing at 6'7", 309-pounds, he has also shown remarkable athleticism. The Longhorns coaching staff noted that he reached a speed of 21 MPH on the GPS in a full-out sprint, which is insane for somebody with Goosby's size.
Overall, Goosby has demonstrated the skills and attributes needed to become an outstanding offensive tackle for the Horns, and this year he will have the chance to fully display his talents protecting the blind side of QB Arch Manning. If he maintains his hard work, he could very well be a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
