The Longhorns have been doing an excellent job on the recruiting trail this year, especially throughout the summer. It's important that they continue to do so and don't "let off the pedal" when it comes to recruits that are visiting on gamedays as well. These visits are extremely important because it allows the player to see how the program operates on gamedays, and gives them a glimpse of the overall environment.
They'll undoubtedly have to be at the top of their game both on the field and off of it this weekend, as rising star cornerback Brandon Derrough-Harris has officially announced via social media that he'll be attending the game this weekend for Texas.
Excited to attend the @TexasFootball vs OU this weekend. Really appreciate the invite‼️@CoachSark @CoachColvin7 @Coach_Owens5 @CoachJudie5372 @Jimmy_utfb @CoachK_FBCoach @jmjonesUT @Mark_Orphey pic.twitter.com/1JJwjp3Xlb

Derrough-Harris is a younger player (class of 2028), but he's already sought after by most of the top teams in the nation. He's kind of earned the reputation of being the next big thing at defensive back in the recruiting world so it's vital to get his attention early on in the process.
The 5'11",157-pound sophomore defensive back is already showing dominance at the varsity level for Royse City HS (Royse City, TX), and the sky is literally the limit for Derrough-Harris.
He has above-average processing and recognition skills for his age, and always manages to be within arms distance of the football at the end of every play. Through the first six games of his sophomore season in 2025, he has 40 total tackles, 8 pass deflections, 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and returned one kick for 66 yards.
Despite being only 157 pounds right now, he loves to step up and make tackles all over the field. He plays with great physicality, and he could be an elite slot corner at the next level due to his love of contact. He also has excellent recovery speed and can close in fast on double-moves or when he needs to get back to the ball on comeback routes.
As mentioned earlier, though he's a 2028 recruit, Longhorn Nation will probably be hearing Derrough-Harris' name a lot over the next couple of seasons as he'll remain one of the team's top defensive targets going forward.
