Pro Football Focus just came out with their list of the top 101 football players of 2025, and new Texas linebacker Rasheem Biles comes in at No.90.
Will Muschamp was extremely persistent when going after Biles, and it paid off in a big way when he chose the Longhorns over multiple other national championship-quality schools. Biles not only provides Texas with a proven and experienced leader in the linebacker room, but his production on the field was second to none in 2025.

Biles compiled an unheard of stat line in 2025 consisting of:
- 101 tackles
- 17 TFL
- 4.5 sacks
- 2 interceptions
- 4 pass deflections
- 2 forced fumbles
- 1 fumble recovery
- 3 defensive touchdowns
All of this was done in only 10 games as well, which makes it even more mind-blowing. He was consistently the best player on the field for PITT, and was an absolute menace to opposing offenses in both phases of the game. He's a picture-perfect tackler once he makes contact with ball-carriers, and he does a great job of recognizing throwing lanes against the pass. Very few players in the transfer portal had the amount of sheer talent and movement skills that Biles does, and he was the Longhorns' No.1 defensive target once he officially jumped in the portal.
Biles' play recognition, processing speed, and overall athleticism is what sets him apart from the majority of linebackers at the P4 level. He's a prototypical WILL linebacker with the ability to play MIKE if need be, which was a huge draw for Texas' coaching staff. Usually MIKE's are a bit bigger than he is (220 lbs.) in Will Muschamp-type defenses but if Biles can prove that he can handle that role in spring and summer practices, it wouldn't be surprising at all to see Biles at MIKE and Ty'Anthony Smith at WILL heading into the 2026 season.
