Jerrin Thompson, S (Auburn)
Blake Gideon and the Longhorns' secondary ushered in a new era of the Texas defensive backfield for the SEC this fall. Texas signed the nation's top-ranked defensive back recruiting class for the 2024 cycle in the 247Sports Composite.
Part of the natural attrition Texas faced in the secondary was unfortunately losing some experienced safety starters with multiple years of proven experience for this side of the ball.
Senior Jerrin Thompson brought starting experience and proven skills in pass coverage on defense to Auburn's secondary this fall, registering 65 tackles, two interceptions, and five pass breakups.
Verdict: Starred
Jalen Catalon, S (UNLV)
Super senior safety Jalen Catalon was playing in his sixth season with his third different school at UNLV this fall.
Catalon played for his former defensive coordinator at Arkansas, Barry Odom, at UNLV this season, as a Third-Team AP All-American. It just goes to show how good Catalon can be when he plays a full season healthy in college that he led the Mountain West in interceptions in 2024.
Verdict: Starred
Casey Cain, WR (UNLV)
Verdict: Sunk
Agiye Hall, WR (UCF)
Former Texas and Alabama two-time transfer wide receiver Agiye Hall never enrolled with the UCF Knights for the 2024 season.
Verdict: Sunk
Charles Wright, QB (Appalachian State)
Austin native quarterback Charles Wright transferred from Texas to Appalachian State last offseason as a grad transfer. But he never showed up on App State's roster for the 2024 season after signing with the Mountaineers for spring ball last offseason.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Wright is currently interning at a real estate developer in Austin.
