Position-by-position grades for Texas's 2025 signing class

Regardless of where it finishes in the national class rankings, Texas's 2025 signing class is filled with dudes who will make an impact on the Longhorns well into the future in the SEC.

Wide receiver

Jaime Ffrench, Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin 5-Star

Florida native five-star Jaime Ffrench is one of two top-50-ranked wide receiver recruits that the Longhorns signed in the 2025 class today. Ffrench was a one-time Alabama commit who gave his pledge to the Longhorns over the Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, and LSU late this past summer in the 2025 class.

Ffrench will be an early-impact receiver in Sarkisian's offense, bringing a solid combination of route-running, hands, quickness, and verticality to make those tough contested 50-50 catches.

Adding Ffrench is one of my favorite commitments on the offensive side of the ball in this signing class for the Longhorns.

Kaliq Lockett, Sachse (TX) 5-Star

In-state five-star Kaliq Lockett is the highest-rated wide receiver signee for the Longhorns in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite. Lockett is the second of the two five-star wide receiver commits Sarkisian, Chris Jackson, and the Longhorns added for this cycle for 2025.

Lockett is an excellent fit as a natural outside possession receiver in Sarkisian's offense. At 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, Lockett is the wideout with the largest catch radius and strongest hands in this class for the Longhorns.

Expect Lockett and Ffrench to both make immediate impacts on Texas's receiving corps in the next year or two.

Daylan McCutcheon, Lucas (TX) Lovejoy 4-Star

DFW-area four-star Daylan McCutcheon is easily one of the most underrated recruits the Longhorns signed in the 2025 class today. McCutcheon, a former Florida State commit, flipped to the Longhorns late in the summer for the 2025 class.

McCutcheon will be a great fit working with Jackson at Texas. He's a really gifted and technical route runner who brings good top-end speed and above-average acceleration. Don't sleep on McCutcheon's ability to pick up valuable yards after the catch for the Longhorns.

The only reason why this wide receiver class isn't getting an A+ grade for the Longhorns is the fact that they didn't sign Duncanville (TX) five-star Dakorien Moore.

Grade: A
