James Simon, RB (Texas commit)

Of all the Texas recruits and commitments in the 2025 and 2026 classes that gave reactions after the win over Michigan in Week 2, four-star 2025 running back commit James Simon probably had the best one. The blue-chip running back from Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport, LA, said that "Coach Sark can't be stopped" right now.

Simon also said that Texas has the "best offense in the country" and that the Longhorns are "not done at all".

John Turntine, OT

Texas's top in-state offensive tackle priority in the 2026 class, Fort Worth (TX) North Crowley five-star John Turntine, was engaged and watching the Longhorns' dominance in the trenches on the field at the Big House this weekend. Turntine told Inside Texas after the big win over Michigan that he liked seeing the Longhorns "dominating in the trenches", just like he expected them to in this game.

Turntine visited Texas multiple times unofficially during the offseason and is expected to make it back to Austin for at least one gameday trip to DKR this fall.

Jalen Lott, WR/ATH

Another top in-state 2026 target on the recruiting trail for the Longhorns in the 2026 class impressed by the Texas offense in the big win over Michigan was the elite high-four-star Frisco (TX) Panther Creek athlete/wide receiver Jalen Lott. The No. 8 athlete recruit in the nation in the 2026 class in the 247Sports Composite said he wasn't surprised about the result in Ann Arbor for the Longhorns this weekend.

Lott also expressed his opinion that Texas is "a national contender" this season.

Texas definitely has caught Lott's attention on the recruiting trail recently. Lott was seen over the weekend wearing the Texas gloves in his high school game on Friday for Panther Creek.
