2. Kelvin Banks Jr., OT

Inside Texas's Eric Nahlin recently named junior offensive tackle and preseason All-SEC First-Team selection Kelvin Banks Jr. as the best player for the Longhorns entering the 2024 season. Banks is projected to be picked well inside of the first round for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Not only has Banks been the most consistent and formidable pass blocker Texas has seen in any offensive tackle's first two years as a starter on campus in the last decade, but he's also been one of the best of any OL in the Power Five regarding his proficiency and production. Banks ranked among the three highest-graded pass blockers at offensive tackle in the Big 12 in each of the last two seasons.

Since 2022, Banks hasn't even allowed 25 quarterback pressures while logging over 1,000 pass-blocking snaps for the Longhorns (per PFF).

Not many offensive tackles can say they've allowed fewer than one quarterback pressure per start in the first two years of their careers in college.

1. Quinn Ewers, QB

Texas gets its third-year starting quarterback back to lead this offense this year, with Ewers coming back after leading them to a Big 12 Championship and the CFP last season. Ewers getting another full offseason to learn this offensive system under Sarkisian and continue to build chemistry with his skill players and offensive line promises to deliver good results for Texas's offense this fall.

We've really heard nothing but great things about how Ewers has led Texas as one of the top starters on either side of the ball this offseason.

"I’d say his leadership and how cool, calm and collected he is. He’s a very low-key guy but when it comes time to work, he lets you hear it."

Ewers was one of the best quarterbacks in the Big 12 last season, registering a completion percentage around 70 in conference play while nearly throwing for 3,500 yards and over 20 touchdowns. He should only continue to improve his footwork and timing with his receivers this fall to establish himself as one of top quarterbacks in the SEC, and the entire Power Four.
