Defensive line recruiting has been a hot topic of discussion for Texas football on the recruiting trail for the 2025 class this summer. Texas had some ups and downs with its defensive tackle recruiting efforts for this cycle over the past few months, missing out on multiple top targets in the trenches this summer on the trail.

Texas is looking to take three to four defensive tackle commits from high school recruiting in the 2025 class. Kenny Baker and the Longhorns currently have one defensive lineman committed to the 2025 class as of mid-August.

The Longhorns flipped the highly touted four-star Folsom (CA) defensive lineman Josiah Sharma from the Oregon Ducks last month. Sharma is Texas's only true DL commit in the 2025 class late this summer.

It makes sense that Baker and the Longhorns sent out more defensive line offers to emerging flip targets in the 2025 class earlier this week. Texas offered multiple 2025 defensive linemen who are currently committed to other SEC schools, and also one big 2026 DL target.

Here's a deeper look into the two defensive tackle prospects in the 2025 class that the Longhorns offered this week.
