2 early-June 2025 official visitors trending to Texas
Caleb Chester, CB
Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall three-star Caleb Chester was one of Texas's top in-state cornerback priorities in the 2025 class coming into his official visit in Austin last weekend. If there was any doubt that the Longhorns really wanted Chester in their class for 2025 entering the weekend, those doubts were silenced in the last couple of days.
Chester had a pretty quiet official visit weekend at Texas in the last 48-72 hours. But that doesn't mean that Texas didn't shore up its lead in this recruitment during his official visit.
Texas entered last weekend with at least a marginal lead over the Texas A&M Aggies and Arkansas Razorbacks in the race to land a commitment from Chester this summer. Horns247 reported on June 10 (paid content) that Texas likely extended its lead ahead of Texas A&M, Arkansas, and the LSU Tigers in this recruitment following the conclusion of his official visit on June 9.
All signs point to the Longhorns being the favorite in this recruitment with Chester expected to announce after summer official visits. Texas A&M and Arkansas have a chance to counter some of the momentum Texas built during Chester's June 7-9 official visit to Austin in the next two weekends.
Next up for Chester is his official visit to College Station to see Texas A&M this coming weekend. Texas A&M is Texas's biggest competition in this recruitment and could make a late push for Chester during his June 13-15 trip to College Station.
Arkansas is the final official visit Chester is scheduled to take this summer. There could be a chance that Chester decides to shut down his recruitment before he's scheduled to take that Arkansas official in a couple of weeks.
