2 priority 2025 recruits RPM'ed to Texas this week
Jaime Ffrench, WR
Texas's top remaining priority with wide receiver recruiting in the 2025 class late this summer on the trail is the elite Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin five-star Jaime Ffrench.
Sarkisian and Chris Jackson are looking to add another five-star wide receiver to the 2025 class after it got its first wideout commit of this cycle in early August from Sachse's (TX) Kaliq Lockett. This wide receiver class would be an absolutely massive haul on the trail for the Longhorns if they landed two five-stars, Ffrench and Lockett this summer.
Texas's staff has made Ffrench's recruitment a major priority since early this offseason, when he de-committed from the Alabama Crimson Tide back in January. The Longhorns established a good connection with Ffrench in this recruitment after a successful unofficial visit during spring practice in April.
The LSU Tigers and Miami Hurricanes have been the biggest threats to the Longhorns' lead in Ffrench's recruitment since the late July visits. LSU and Miami have both thrown the kitchen sink and a bit more at Ffrench late this summer to chip into Texas's lead here.
I still like Texas's chances to ultimately win this decision when Ffrench announces on Aug. 30.
It's noteworthy that the direction of Ffrench's recruitment has swung back in Texas's direction in the media favor for its viewpoint. Multiple On3 RPMs have been entered in the last few weeks, all projecting Ffrench's commitment to the Longhorns in the 2025 class entering his Aug. 30 decision.
