Sophomore right-handed pitcher Grayson Saunier announced on his X account on July 17 that he committed to Texas from the transfer portal. Saunier spent the last two seasons in Ole Miss's pitching rotation.

Saunier was mostly utilized as a starter by head coach Mike Bianco and Ole Miss since the start of the 2023 season. The big 6-foot-4 and 210-pound right-hander from Memphis, TN, started all but one of his 23 appearances on the mound for the Rebels since 2023.

He started the second-most games for the Rebels in the last two seasons combined. In 2024, Saunier registered a 4-3 record, 5.64 ERA, 35 strikeouts, and 16 walks over 44.2 innings pitched and 11 appearances (10 starts). Saunier reduced his ERA by over one point year-over-year while nearly cutting his walk rate in half.

It appears that Saunier improved his overall command of his pitches year-over-year based on his statistical output in 2024. He hit one-third as many batters, walked fewer of them too. Saunier also reduced his opponent batting average from .290 to .278 year-over-year as a sophomore.

Saunier was also one of Ole Miss's best starters during the final month of the 2024 season. In his last four starts, Saunier was 1-0 with a solid 3.16 ERA, and 15 strikeouts over 17 innings pitched.
