Josiah Sharma (Oregon commit)

The defensive tackle target that is arguably Texas's top priority from out-of-state at the position for the 2025 class is the highly touted Folsom (CA) four-star Josiah Sharma.

Sharma reportedly arrived on campus in Austin early in the afternoon of July 25 for the Texas bash on Thursday. This news that Sharma is visiting for the Texas bash today comes just a few weeks after he committed to the Oregon Ducks over the Longhorns and Alabama Crimson Tide in late June.

Despite Sharma committing to Oregon roughly four weeks ago, Baker and Texas co-DC Johnny Nansen have remained in consistent communication with the blue-chip defensive tackle recruit from Northern California. Texas was involved in Sharma's recruitment, even leading at one point, within the 12-24 hours before his announcement for Oregon on June 28.

It's clear that Sharma will be one of those defensive tackle recruits that the Longhorns staff feels is worthy recruiting through the finish line on signing day in December.

This will be Sharma's second visit to Texas in as many months. He officially visited Texas in early June, alongside fellow key Texas out-of-state 2025 defensive tackle target and Florida four-star Myron Charles.

Sharma also took official visits to see the Washington Huskies (May 10), Oregon (June 14), and Alabama (June 21) late in the spring and this summer. He is a one-time Washington commit who re-opened his recruitment after head coach Kalen DeBoer left the Huskies to take the head coaching job at Alabama early this offseason.

Update

It was confirmed on the afternoon of July 25 that Sharma had arrived on campus for his unofficial visit to Texas for the bash event today.
