Former Indiana State senior guard transfer Julian Larry ranked among the best three-point shooters in each of the last two seasons in the Missouri Valley Conference. He was one of just a handful of MVC players to shoot over 45 percent from beyond the arc in 2023-24.

Larry pulled off the rare feat of shooting over 45 percent for two consecutive seasons from beyond the arc (in 2022-23 and 2023-24).

While I do think the primary role for Larry at Texas on the offensive end will be to facilitate the offense and distribute the basketball, he should also be an excellent knockdown shooter from 16-25 feet from the basket. Larry's proven ability to knock down shots at an efficient clip and to facilitate the offense as the primary ball-handler without making bad passes and causing untimely turnovers really makes him a great fit in Terry's free-flowing offensive system.

He's shown the ability to be an excellent off-ball shooter from the mid-range and beyond the arc. Larry shot over 40 percent on catch-and-shoot three-point attempts from the corner and above the break last season (per CBB Analytics).

Larry just needs more opportunities to shoot the ball from beyond the arc at Texas. That's a luxury Terry and Co. can afford to take some of the possessions away from Larry as the primary ball-handler and facilitator to maximize his ability to knockdown shots from beyond the arc since the Longhorns have so many other capable ball-handling guards in the rotation this upcoming season.
