Quinn Ewers is the best QB in college football

There wasn't just one Heisman moment for redshirt junior star quarterback Quinn Ewers for the Longhorns' offense in this convincing win over the Wolverines on the road this weekend. Ewers came up big throws and acrobatic plays for Texas in key situations on third down and in the red zone multiple times in this game.

The numbers that Ewers put up against Michigan, going 24-of-36 passing for 246 yards, three passing touchdowns, and no interceptions, probably don't do Ewers' performance in this game justice. Ewers did a great job of commanding the offense, moving around the pocket, and getting his throws out on time and precisely on target to his skill weapons in the passing game.

Whether it was converting on key third downs or finishing drives when Texas got into the red zone, Ewers did exactly what his team needed to build a comfortable lead in the first half against Michigan.

Ewers had two passing touchdowns in the red zone and picked up an additional five first downs on third-down passing plays in the win over Michigan.

Just to prove how good Ewers was in this win for the Longhorns on the road over Michigan, just look at the fact that he's now the odds-on Heisman favorite coming out of Week 2 of the college football season.

It also caught my eye that Ewers became the first P4 quarterback in the modern era of college football to defeat both Michigan and the Alabama Crimson Tide on the road in his career.
