The highest-rated 2026 visiting recruit the Longhorns are hosting for this weekend's event during spring practice is the elite five-star Carrollton (GA) safety Zelus Hicks. The No. 2 safety recruit in the nation in the 2026 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking is making his second visit to Austin since the start of this offseason.

The first trip Hicks made to Texas this offseason was in mid January.

Hicks is in Texas for the second straight weekend with his 7v7 team Raw7v7. His 7v7 team is competing in the OT7 tournament in Dallas this weekend.

Amid his 7v7 team's trip to Dallas this weekend, he is visiting a trio of Texas schools. He saw the Baylor Bears and Texas A&M on April 12. Hicks arrived on campus in Austin for an unofficial trip to Texas on April 13.

Hicks is another top-rated 2026 recruit that is on offer watch for the Longhorns this weekend. While he's maintained consistent communication with Texas safeties coach Blake Gideon for the last couple of months, he still hasn't been extended an offer from the Longhorns yet.

So far this spring, Hicks has visited the Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Auburn, Ohio State, and the Alabama Crimson Tide, among a couple of other schools. If Texas does throw its hang in the ring in this recruitment in the next 24 hours, it will be fighting many other top SEC programs for the Georgia native Hicks.
