The touted four-star Monroe (LA) Ouachita Parish defensive lineman Dylan Berymon is one of Texas's top out-of-state targets early in the 2026 cycle. The 6-foot-2 and 305-pound defensive tackle from Louisiana has been a key priority for Kenny Baker and the Longhorns with defensive line recruiting in the 2026 class since Texas first offered him back in June after the Elite Camp.

Since he is from Louisiana, Berymon has been favored early to commit to Bo Davis and the LSU Tigers. But the Longhorns are poised to make this recruitment interesting, as a possible battle on the trail that boils down to Texas and LSU.

A Horns247 report (paid content) on Sep. 27 confirms that Berymon is among the recent additions to Texas's visitor list for the SEC opener against Mississippi State this weekend.

Berymon has reportedly expressed a lot of interest in the Longhorns since Texas offered him early in the summer on the trail. It's also noteworthy that Berymon does have family in Texas around Cedar Park.

This will be an important unofficial visit for the Longhorns to make a big impression on Berymon. Texas has done a great job of impressing top visiting recruits with their play, as the top-ranked program in the nation entering SEC play this week. If they can continue the momentum on the recruiting trail through this weekend's matchup against the Bulldogs at home, Texas will really establish itself as a big-time threat to LSU in the race for Berymon in the 2026 cycle.

Berymon is also expected to unofficially visit Texas for the highly-anticipated matchup in the SEC on Oct. 19 in Austin against the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs.
