I was utterly stunned by what I witnessed during the first half against the Michigan Wolverines. That was some of the best football I've seen Texas Football play in a long time. The fact that the Longhorns were able to win in the Big House was enough for the Longhorns to become the second-best team in the nation. Their next test will be the UTSA Roadrunners at DKR Memorial Stadium on Saturday night. Here are three bold predictions for the Longhorns this weekend.

Longhorns Bold Predictions: 3. Jerrick Gibson becomes the new starting running back

This prediction is one of the bold predictions I doubt happen, but after watching him last weekend, who knows? Freshman running back Jerrick Gibson has to step up and contribute after CJ Baxter's season-ending injury during fall camp.

Even though he only has 103 yards rushing so far this season, Gibson has found the back of the endzone twice. UTSA would be the perfect game to prove Gibson should be the starting running back for the remainder of the season. He is the future of the backfield and could earn the job after this weekend.

Longhorns Bold Predictions: 2. Arch Manning gets to play the whole second half

UTSA doesn't have a good football team this season. It would be the perfect game to rest Quinn Ewers in the second half of this matchup. Arch Manning could use the reps in case Ewers were to get injured.

The last thing that the Longhorns need going into these next two weeks is Ewers getting injured during garbage time in the second half. Manning showed in the first week against the Rams that he could enter the game at a minute's notice. Let's see what he can do in the second half of the game.

Longhorns Bold Predictions: 1. Gunnar Helm more than two touchdowns

Senior tight end Gunnar Helm is having a breakout season after the first two games. I wouldn't be surprised if he had more than two touchdowns by halftime against the Roadrunners. Helm seems to be Ewers's number one option to throw to.

That should mean he will get some targets when the Longhorns enter the red zone. Ewers and Helm can have the rest of the night off by halftime if they dominate the Roadrunners in the first half of the game Saturday night.
