The No. 1 athlete recruit in the nation in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking, San Antonio (TX) Alamo Heights five-star Michael Terry III, continues to trend positively for the Longhorns.

After multiple successful visits to Texas, both officially and unofficially, since the spring last offseason, the Longhorns have been considered the favorite in the race to land Terry's commitment this fall on the trail. Terry most recently visited Texas unofficially for a gameday trip on Sep. 14 to see the Longhorns dominate the UTSA Roadrunners at DKR by a score of 56-7.

Terry is also scheduled to take an unofficial gameday visit to Texas to see the Longhorns host Georgia at DKR on Oct. 19. That visit for the Texas-Georgia game in a few weeks is the only remaining trip Terry has scheduled for this fall.

Texas remains the apparent leader in Terry's recruitment, with the Nebraska Cornhuskers in second place and the Oregon Ducks trailing behind in third. Terry had a successful unofficial visit to Lincoln to see Nebraska defeat the Colorado Buffaloes by double digits in early September, which moved the Huskers firmly among the top two schools in this recruitment.

But Texas swung momentum back in its favor with Terry after the successful gameday visit unofficially on Sep. 14 for the UTSA game a few weeks ago. While there isn't a firm decision timeline that Terry has made public this fall, he is expected to announce before signing day in early December.
