The main injury precaution the Longhorns had along the offensive line in the second half of fall practice was a lower-body issue senior center Jake Majors dealt with. Majors was seen in a walking boot during Texas's second fall scrimmage a couple of weekends ago as a precautionary matter.

When the injury to Majors was first reported during the second fall scrimmage for the Longhorns a couple of weekends ago, he was expected to be ready for Week 1 to start for Kyle Flood. We haven't heard anything that would contradict the initial reports that Majors will be ready to go for the season opener this weekend at DKR.

It's noteworthy that Majors was a full participant in fall practice for the Longhorns last week.

Majors is returning for his fourth year as Texas's starting center since 2021. He is the anchor for an offensive line that returns four out of five starters and is expected to be one of the best in the SEC (if not the entire P4 conferences) for the 2024 season.

"Really, our culture is their culture. It's not something that we're trying to instill in them, that's just who they are. I think, more than ever when you just listen to them talk, they speak our language. Sometimes I feel like they're saying exactly what I've been saying now for three and four years."

Steve Sarkisian

The fifth-year senior is a vocal leader in the locker room and on the field for the Longhorns' offensive line this fall. He is one of only five players on the Longhorns' current roster who were with this program before Sarkisian took the reigns as the head coach in 2021.
