Over the weekend, No. 2 Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian came up with a very convincing 56-7 win over the UTSA Roadrunners and head coach Jeff Traylor at DKR on Sep. 14. Texas got plenty of guys out on the field to empty out the bench and get valuable live-game reps in the second half against UTSA in the 49-point romping at DKR in Week 3.

Sarkisian and the Longhorns got over 70 players live-game reps in the win over the Roadrunners on Saturday night. It is the second time this season that the Longhorns have gotten more than two levels deep on the depth chart through three weeks of non-conference play this fall.

Texas did experience some injuries in Week 3 against UTSA, namely with redshirt junior starting quarterback Quinn Ewers. The Longhorns will deal with some injuries on the offensive side of the ball entering Week 4 against the UL-Monroe Warhawks.

We won't get an official injury report from the Longhorns until the start of SEC play next week. But we did get a handful of injury updates from Sarkisian in his Monday press conference on Sep. 16.

Here are three key injury updates for the Longhorns entering the Week 4 matchup at home against ULM.

Tre Wisner, RB

After the win over UTSA, Sarkisian said sophomore running back Tre Wisner had a "tweak", which is why he decided to hold him out in the second half. It was also mentioned by Sarkisian that Wisner probably "could have gone back into the game", but he didn't want to risk any further injury with Texas up by multiple scores in the second half against the Roadrunners.

Wisner was on the field for nearly two dozen offensive snaps in the first half against UTSA before suffering the lower-body tweak last weekend. He had six carries for 20 rushing yards, and one catch for nine yards in the first half against UTSA.

With Wisner being held out on the sideline in the second half, more reps out of the backfield went to true freshman running back Jerrick Gibson, senior Velton Gardner, and walk-on Colin Page.
