Jaydon Blue, RB

Junior running back Jaydon Blue suffered a lower-body injury in the big Week 2 win on the road in Ann Arbor over the No. 10 ranked and defending National Champion Michigan Wolverines. Blue suffered an ankle sprain in the first half of the Week 2 double-digit win over Michigan, but he returned to the game later in the second half.

Despite saying postgame after the win over Michigan that he would be "alright", Blue was held out for the Week 3 contest against UTSA last weekend. It came out later in the week that Blue was probably going to be sidelined for the matchup against UTSA due to the ankle sprain he suffered against Michigan.

"Jaydon’s making good progress right now. Hopefully we can get Jaydon back. He’s an impactful player for us not only in the running game, but in the passing game."

Steve Sarkisian on Jaydon Blue

After the win over UTSA on Saturday night at home, Sarkisian said that Texas is hopeful they can get Blue back in the near future. Blue was Texas's most productive returning running back on the two-deep entering this fall after the season-ending injury to sophomore CJ Baxter Jr.

It also hurts that the Longhorns' running back room is already missing Baxter and true freshman Christian Clark for the entire season due to lower-body injuries. Texas needs Blue back in the backfield at least coming out of the bye week by the Red River Rivalry game in Dallas on Oct. 12 against the Oklahoma Sooners.
