Former Washington Huskies freshman linebacker Jordan Whitney entered the transfer portal earlier this month. Whitney has all four years of eligibility remaining since he didn't have any live-game snaps for the Huskies during his true freshman season last fall.

The 6-foot-2 and 205-pound linebacker from Oxnard (CA) Pacifica High School was rated a three-star recruit in the 2023 class. He ranked as the No. 1098 prospect nationally in the 2023 class in the On3 Industry Ranking, No. 106 linebacker, and No. 100 from California.

Whitney signed with the Huskies over other schools in his top five, including the Boise State Broncos, Fresno State Bulldogs, Washington State Cougars, and Arizona. He was recruited by Nansen while he was at Arizona and UCLA, as he visited each school multiple times in 2021 and 2022.

Since Texas could be potentially looking to add bodies at the linebacker position late this spring after the departures of senior Kendrick Blackshire and redshirt freshman S'Maje Burrell, Whitney could be a possible target. He's got past connections to Nansen during his recruitment out of high school.

And Whitney could help add some depth and long-term impact after Texas lost multiple underclassmen at the linebacker position to the portal since the start of the offseason.
