The transfer and summer enrollee who has been praised the most consistently in the last few weeks is former Oregon State Beavers senior wide receiver Silas Bolden. The redshirt senior from the West Coast seems to be making himself right at home at Texas this summer.

It's the speed and veteran leadership qualities that stuck out immediately when Bolden arrived on campus for the summer semester this offseason. But he's also been one of the hardest workers in the weight room, on the practice field, and in the conditioning program during summer workouts.

Bolden's impact has turned heads immediately in the short time since he's arrived on campus. Second-year quarterback Arch Manning complimented Bolden for his abilities on the field and work ethic at the Manning Passing Academy last week.

"This guy Silas Bolden is a dog. He's really good. I've been throwing to him this summer.""

As the only wideout who was a summer enrollee for the Longhorns this offseason, Bolden was fighting an uphill battle to earn his spot on the two-deep in the receiving corps entering fall camp.

But his speed, proven experience, and versatility in the receiving game (along with his ability to make defenders miss in space) make Bolden almost assured of getting his fair share of live-game reps on offense early in the regular season.
