Michael Fasusi, OT

Decision date: Aug. 22

Texas's top priority offensive line recruit in the 2025 class this summer, five-star Lewisville (TX) offensive tackle Michael Fasusi, is just a few weeks away from his highly anticipated decision.

Fasusi decides between the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas, and Texas A&M (with the Florida Gators looming on the peripheral) in roughly three weeks from now.

Texas A&M was heavily involved in this recruitment for Fasusi until now-former Aggies assistant Joe Hamilton rejoined the Gators staff this summer. Hamilton getting back involved with Fasusi's recruitment at least got him on campus for a visit to Gainesville before the dead period earlier in the week.

Texas and Oklahoma are the two top schools duking it out in the race for Fasusi's commitment late this summer. Oklahoma has had a lot of the momentum and buzz for Fasusi since he had a successful June official visit to Norman. Offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh has done a really good job of connecting with Fasusi and his family in this recruitment going all the way back to last offseason.

Oklahoma having momentum in this recruitment isn't going to slow down the Longhorns, though. Fasusi is a serious top priority for Kyle Flood and the Longhorns in the 2025 class. Texas isn't going to go away quietly here.

Flood and the rest of Texas's staff have also done a tremendous job in this recruitment, as he was one of the first to offer Fasusi among the big in-state schools in early 2023.

And it feels like Fasusi's decision could come right down to the final hours before his decision on Aug. 22.
