The highly touted four-star Melbourne (FL) Eau Gallie defensive lineman Brandon Brown made his first unofficial trip to Texas this weekend since committing to the Longhorns last December.

When Brown committed to the Longhorns over the Miami Hurricanes and Florida Gators, among others, on Dec. 19, he hadn't been to Texas in-person. But he had good relationships with then Texas defensive line coach Bo Davis and Sarkisian, which was enough for him to announce his pledge to the Longhorns.

Despite Texas losing Davis to the LSU Tigers earlier this offseason, the Longhorns have held onto Brown's commitment. Multiple other Power Five programs have tried to chip away at Brown's pledge to the Longhorns early this offseason, but he's stayed firm with Texas.

The early returns from Brown's unofficial trip to Texas this weekend are very positive. He told On3 that the Texas visit was a "10/10" for him and his family. He "loved the family atmosphere" and the experience with the coaches.

It was also good to hear that Brown connected with new Texas defensive line coach Kenny Baker during his unofficial visit this weekend. He said that the experience with the staff, specifically Baker, made him feel like he "was home".

Brown also unofficially visited Texas A&M with his 7v7 team this weekend. He has future official visits planned to see the USC Trojans, Tennessee Volunteers, Florida, and Texas late this spring and during the summer.
