Arkansas (home and home)

Reviving the rivalry between Texas and Arkansas isn't the only reason for excitement when these two teams meet twice in a home-and-home series on the hardwood in SEC play next year.

Terry and the Longhorns will also be facing a new-look Arkansas squad led by newly-hired former Kentucky head coach Calipari next season. Calipari took the Arkansas job that was left open after head coach Eric Musselman left for the position with the USC Trojans this spring.

Calipari and the Razorbacks look like a good match after both parties needed a change of scenery after the 2023-24 season. Calipari's time in Lexington was running out after multiple early NCAA Tournament exits in the last few years.

Arkansas, meanwhile, fell well short of expectations with a losing record last season after being ranked as a top 15 team in the major preseason polls.

Calipari is known to stock his roster full of talent, especially among incoming freshmen from the high school ranks. But he's assembled a more balanced roster early this offseason at Arkansas. He's brought on multiple veteran players from Kentucky, among other schools, to Arkansas with him entering next season.

But Calipari and the Hogs are still far from done rebuilding this roster to compete in the SEC next season, with four scholarship spots remaining late this spring. Arkansas does have the highest-rated 2024 transfer class in the 247Sports Composite.

How all these new players will be able to gel together in Calipari's first year in Fayetteville in 2024-25 is the big question. Arkansas lost all of its top seven scorers from last season's rotation, after Musselman's departure to USC.
