The one top priority 2025 recruit on this list that the Longhorns have already hosted for an official visit since last offseason is the elite five-star Gilbert (AZ) Perry big man Koa Peat. The No. 5 recruit nationally in the 2025 class in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry Ranking officially visited Texas last fall.

He had a great experience during his official visit to Texas late last September and has remained in constant communication with Terry and staff since.

Peat included Texas among his top 10 finalist schools that he announced back in January 2024. He also had the Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, Baylor Bears, Michigan Wolverines, North Carolina Tar Heels, Duke Blue Devils, Kentucky Wildcats, UCLA Bruins, and Houston among his top 10 schools in January.

It sounds like there are roughly a half-dozen schools that Peat has narrowed in on for his recruitment entering the summer. The Arkansas Razorbacks have joined the mix among the top group of schools for Peat since hiring former Kentucky head coach John Calipari this offseason.

Peat likes the idea of living in Austin and the brand and potential of the Longhorns basketball program. It also doesn't hurt that Terry and Texas have found solid postseason success recently, winning at least one NCAA Tournament game for three years in a row.

This recruitment will really heat up as Peat takes his final round of official visits during the summer. A decision is likely to come from him this fall, or whenever he wraps up his last official visits.
