3 possible transfer destinations for Texas CB Terrance Brooks
UTSA
The UTSA Roadrunners and head coach Jeff Traylor have some buzz in this portal recruitment early this week. UTSA has been trending for multiple former Longhorns transfers late this spring, including linebackers Kendrick Blackshire and S'Maje Burrell.
247Sports' Chris Hummer reported early in this portal recruitment that UTSA was a potential school to watch for Brooks.
UTSA has remained a factor and is heavily pursuing Brooks to be a cornerstone part of their secondary this year. Traylor and the UTSA staff have relationships with a lot of these in-state guys who transferred from Texas this spring.
The Roadrunners are serious about acquiring talent on the defensive side of the ball from the portal this offseason. UTSA has already signed former five-star cornerback recruit Denver Harris, along with former Alabama linebacker Ian Jackson and Stanford safety Jimmy Wyrick in this transfer cycle.
UTSA has also added a former Longhorn via the portal this offseason, third-year offensive lineman Jaylen Garth.
Given the commitment UTSA has shown to acquiring high-level talent from the portal this offseason, I wouldn't rule them out as a potential Group of Five destination for Brooks this spring, especially if other Longhorns defenders also land in San Antonio.
Other schools in consideration for Brooks late this spring are the Michigan Wolverines, Illinois Fighting Illini, and SMU Mustangs.
