Troy Huhn

The other offer Texas has out to an uncommitted quarterback prospect for 2026 is the highly touted San Marcos (CA) Mission Hills four-star Troy Huhn. The 6-foot-4 and 205-pound pocket passer from California Huhn is also set to visit for the Texas Elite Camp in early June.

It goes to show how important this spot is for the Longhorns at quarterback in the 2026 class. Not only are Bell and Huhn the only two uncommitted quarterback offers for the Longhorns in the 2026 cycle right now, but they're also both throwing in front of Sarkisian and Milwee at the Elite Camp in a few weeks.

At this point, I think it isn't that big of a surprise that Bell and Huhn are the only two 2026 quarterback prospects currently scheduled to compete in the Elite Camp on June 1.

The biggest difference between these two quarterback recruitments for the Longhorns in the 2026 class is the expected decision timelines for each prospect. Recent reporting has made it known that Bell is expected to be closing in on a decision in the coming weeks.

Huhn, meanwhile, hasn't made his decision timeline clear yet. We'll see if his decision timeline changes in the next few weeks, approaching the Elite Camp in early June.

It's not out of the question that Texas has its first quarterback commit this summer with the potential that Bell or Huhn could potentially be the guy in this class coming out of the Elite Camp. Texas likes both quarterbacks, but I don't think the Longhorns will get both committed in the 2026 class when this cycle is all said and done.
