Texas Women's Basketball is in the gym, preparing for their first season in the SEC next year. There are some good teams that they will be going up against next season. One of those teams is the South Carolina Gamecocks, which went undefeated last season and won the national title.

Texas head coach Vic Schaefer must begin his game plans going up against some great teams. Here are three teams that will give the Longhorns trouble next season.

Tough SEC Teams for Texas women's basketball: 1. South Carolina Gamecocks

Even though the Gamecocks lost Kamilla Cardoso to the WNBA Draft this summer, they will be a monster to contend with on the court. While we don't know how they will start the season, you can expect the Gamecocks to be prepared.

They have the second-rated recruiting class in the country and hit the jackpot, bringing in talented Freshman guard Joyce Edwards. With all the talent they got in the transfer portal, the Gamecocks could repeat as national champions this upcoming season.

Tough SEC Teams: 2. LSU Tigers

Kim Mulkey found a way to replace Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith. They will be just as tough as the Gamecocks this upcoming season. The Tigers got Shayeann Day-Wilson, Kailyn Gilbert, and Mjracle Sheppard in the transfer portal.

Along with returning talent Flau'jae Johnson, Aneesah Morrow, and Mikaylah Williams, the Tigers will be a force to be reckoned with. I wouldn't be surprised if fans get to watch an LSU-South Carolina rematch for the SEC Title this season.

Tough SEC Teams: 3. Oklahoma Sooners

Our rivals north of the Red River look to make a massive introduction in the SEC this season. They have a lot of returning talent, such as Skylar Vann, that will look to be a factor on the court for the Sooners.

If that isn't enough, they were able to recruit highly sought-out Forward Reagan Beers in the transfer portal this offseason. The current Big 12 Champions are here to play and will look to make Schaefer's life miserable next season during conference play.
