Texas had its seventh spring practice on April 2. And we're now just a few days away from the highly anticipated first scrimmage of spring camp. That first spring scrimmage is likely upcoming this weekend.

With Texas nearing the halfway mark of spring ball, Sarkisian and the Longhorns staff are ramping up the intensity in practice this week. The Tuesday spring practice on April 2 sounds like it was one of the more intense of camp thus far.

Here are three takeaways from the Longhorns' seventh spring practice on April 2.

Malik Muhammad getting back to full health

The biggest injury news from the first half of spring practice for the Longhorns was the ailment sophomore cornerback Malik Muhammad has dealt with for the last couple of weeks. Muhammad was limited in practice over the last 10 days or so due to a lower-body injury issue.

We got a very positive update regarding Muhammad's status for practice early this week. Orangebloods reported on April 2 (subscriber content) that Muhammad was a participant in the full pads practice on Tuesday.

It is a big development for Muhammad to be back at practice on a day when the Longhorns ramped up the intensity in full-contact drills. Muhammad is obviously an important part of this secondary as the likely starter at boundary corner this upcoming season.

Texas has otherwise been healthy in the secondary this spring. Muhammad getting these valuable first-team reps in the secondary for at least a couple of weeks before the spring game will be important to get this starting group set before summer workouts and preseason camp.
