If I had to pick one true freshman for the Longhorns who were consistently mentioned among the standouts during Saturday's spring scrimmage, it would be wide receiver Ryan Wingo. The former five-star recruit continues this spring to prove why he was such a highly regarded prospect coming out of high school in St. Louis this past cycle.

Multiple elite wide receiver recruits who were visiting Texas last weekend mentioned Wingo among the players that caught their eye, including Duncanville five-star Dakorien Moore and Jacksonville (FL) Mandarin five-star Jaime Ffrench.

Wingo reportedly had a couple of nice catches during the 11-on-11 portion of the scrimmage last weekend. He got some run with the top four wide receivers with the first-team offense and some reps with the second-team unit.

How good Wingo looked during the scrimmage last weekend reflected well on many of the visiting recruits during the Longhorn City Limits festivities on April 6. Moore said after the visit that getting to watch the intensity and strong performances from the receivers (i.e., Wingo and Isaiah Bond) was the highlight of his multi-day trip to Austin.

Considering that it wasn't the biggest day for Wingo regarding targets or touchdowns during team drills and the scrimmage, it shows how impressive he truly looks on the practice field when recruits are raving about him as they have in the last 48 hours since their visits concluded.
