If Texas does land a commitment this weekend, the best possibility would probably be from the priority three-star Missouri City (TX) Fort Bend Marshall cornerback Caleb Chester. Texas and cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph have made Chester a big-time priority with their defensive back recruiting efforts in-state for this cycle.

Chester is considered to be at least a slight Texas lean entering his official visit this weekend. Texas A&M is the other in-state school that is heavily involved in this recruitment at this point of the offseason. Chester has his Texas A&M official visit upcoming the weekend after he sees Texas on June 14.

He's also scheduled to officially visit Fayetteville to see the Arkansas Razorbacks to round out his summer trips on June 21.

A big factor working in Texas's favor in Chester's recruitment is the fact that Texas A&M already has four cornerback commitments in the 2025 class. The numbers are very tight for the Aggies at the position while the Longhorns are still searching for their first in-state corner commit for 2025 this summer.

Jordan Scruggs of Horns247 reported on June 6 (paid content) that there is at least a chance that Chester shuts down his recruitment during the Texas official visit this weekend and commits.
