Another highly-anticipated new addition to the key part of the rotation for Terry and the Longhorns this upcoming season is senior grad transfer forward Arthur Kaluma. The former Kansas State Wildcats and Creighton Blue Jays two-time transfer Kaluma was Texas's final portal addition of the offseason.

Texas ranked among the bottom five teams in the Big 12 last season in opponent points per game, opponent field-goal percentage, offensive and defensive rebounding rates, and blocks.

The 6-foot-7 and 225-pound versatile forward brings proven experience and defensive chops to help Texas in multiple respects on that end of the floor. Kaluma's rebounding ability and one-on-one defense can help Texas be more formidable on the defensive end of the floor in the SEC this season.

Kaluma brings a unique skill set that can also help the Longhorns more effectively defend off different drawn up plays, including the pick-and-roll and high ball screens. He knows how to effectively communicate and defend during the in-game chaos of trying to stay cohesive with his teammates on the defensive end.

Offensively, Kaluma will try to find his role as more of a swing forward playing in a smaller lineup at the four this season for the Longhorns. Kaluma can score from the mid-range and the paint as a proven scorer that has scored in the double figures in each of his three seasons playing major conference college hoops, including one year at Kansas State and two seasons at Creighton earlier in his career.
