One of Texas's most experienced returning players for the 2024-25 season in the SEC is super senior center Kadin Shedrick. After the loss of Disu this offseason due to exhausted eligibility, Shedrick will be Texas's next go-to starting center this upcoming season for 2024-25.

Junior guard Chendall Weaver and Shedrick are two of Texas's most important returning players from last year's squad in the core part of the rotation.

Shedrick was one of Texas's first players to announce that he would be returning for the 2024-25 season after the Longhorns fell short to the two-seed Tennessee Volunteers in the Round of 32 last spring.

Texas will be looking to Shedrick to put together a fully healthy season as their experienced starting center to anchor them on both ends of the floor. Due to a shoulder injury he suffered before the start of last season, Shedrick was limited to playing well under 20 minutes per game. He also missed a handful of games in the first half of last season due to the nagging shoulder injury.

The good news is that Shedrick reportedly looks a lot healthier and more confident entering the 2024-25 season than he did at the same time last year, when he was still recovering from the shoulder surgery. If Shedrick can have a fully healthy season, he can be that big rim protector and inside scoring presence on the offensive end that the Longhorns need consistently in the frontcourt.
