The other experienced transfer defensive tackle who arrived on campus for the Longhorns for the start of summer workouts a couple of weeks ago is the grad transfer from Louisville and Arizona State Lole.

The biggest question mark surrounding Lole's status when Texas flipped his commitment in the portal from the rival Oklahoma Sooners this spring was his health. Lole was limited due to various injury issues during his time at Arizona State in the late 2010s and early 2020s.

Before injuries started keeping Lole off the field in 2020 and 2021 at Arizona State, he was a legitimate All-Pac-12 caliber performer in the first two years of his collegiate career. Lole started to show that pre-injury form when he played a dozen games healthy last season at Louisville.

Lole proved he can still hold up for a full season on a power conference defensive line at Louisville last season. He took more defensive snaps than any other Louisville interior defensive lineman in 2023.

The early returns on Lole's status since he arrived on campus for the start of summer workouts in early June are very positive. It sounds like he's made an impression on the defensive coaching staff at the outset of summer S&C.

The pace Lole is on right now could reportedly put him in line to be one of the top three or four guys in the interior defensive line rotation along with Collins and Norton.
