Dec. 4 @ NC State

Location: PNC Arena (Raleigh, NC)

Texas's only true road game in non-conference play for the 2024-25 regular season is the SEC-ACC Challenge on Dec. 4 against the NC State Wolfpack at PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC.

This will be a true test for the Longhorns on the road against a quality NC State squad coming off a magical Final Four run in the NCAA Tournament this past postseason. It will also be a big opportunity for the Longhorns to get used to playing on the road, since this will be the only time they play against a true road crowd before SEC play begins in early January 2025.

NC State lost some key pieces from last year's Final Four squad, namely breakout star big man D.J. Burns and senior guard DJ Horne. Gone are four of NC State's top five leading scorers from last season's roster.

Head coach Kevin Keatts and the Wolfpack will be looking to senior guards Jayden Taylor and Michael O'Connell to lead the way on the offensive end of the floor this season in the ACC. Former Georgetown Hoyas and North Carolina Tar Heels senior wing transfer Dontrez Styles and Louisville/Tennessee senior big man transfer Brandon Huntley-Hatfield are also expected to replace key departures in NC State's starting five.

The question for Keatts and the Wolfpack entering the 2024-25 regular season is whether they can continue the momentum after winning the ACC Tournament and nearly making it to the National Championship Game to close out last year.
