Texas's top big man target in the portal at this point of the offseason is former Oklahoma State Cowboys true freshman center Brandon Garrison. The 6-foot-11 and 245-pound big man from Oklahoma City, OK, visited Texas during the spring football game last weekend.

Garrison arrived in Austin on Friday for his multi-day trip to Texas over the weekend. On Texas Football's Gerry Hamilton reported on April 22 (premium content) that Garrison visited Austin with his family.

He reportedly is narrowing down his decision to Texas and the Oklahoma schools. And it sounds like a decision can be expected in the not-too-distant future.

Garrison visited Norman last week to see head coach Porter Moser and the Oklahoma Sooners. He was recruited heavily by Moser and the Sooners staff out of high school before committing to now-former head coach Mike Boynton and Oklahoma State in the 2023 class.

Oklahoma State is also still involved with Garrison as they're trying to convince him to return to Stillwater for another season. New head coach Steve Lutz and his staff have put in serious efforts to try and lure Garrison back to Stillwater.

Staying close to home is an important factor in this portal recruitment for Garrison. Hamilton reports that if that becomes the biggest factor for Garrison, that would give an obvious edge to the Oklahoma schools over the Longhorns when it comes to decision-time for the talented big man.
