4 former Texas transfers shining this season with new teams
In the past few offseasons, Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian have done a nice job cherry picking talent from the NCAA Transfer Portal to upgrade the roster in highlighted positions of need on each side of the ball. But Texas's additions from the transfer portal under Sarkisian has also meant a large number of losses from the roster too.

Last offseason, Texas made nearly double the number of additions from the transfer portal to help upgrade the roster in particular areas of need for specific position groups compared to the year before.
Sarkisian and the Longhorns staff added a double-digit number of players from the portal during the 2024 offseason, including senior safety Andrew Mukuba, junior wide receiver Isaiah Bond, and senior wide receiver Silas Bolden. Roughly 20 percent of Texas's starters this season came from the transfer portal.
In this day and age of college football, Sarkisian and the Longhorns have adapted really well to the transfer portal and NIL. Texas is still focusing on high school recruiting over building out the complete roster depth from the portal. But the Longhorns are still making good use of the portal to upgrade the roster where its needed.
With all the additions the Longhorns got from the transfer portal last offseason, along with another top-five-ranked recruiting class in the nation for the 2024 cycle, Texas was bound to lose some pieces to the portal. Over 20 Longhorns players from last year's squad entered the transfer portal for the 2024 offseason.
Here's a look at four former Texas transfers from last offseason that are shining with their new teams this fall.
