Jonathan Cunningham, LB (Texas commit)

Three-star Fort Worth (TX) North Crowley linebacker and Texas commit Jonathan Cunningham spent his birthday weekend in Austin for a gameday visit unofficially to see the Longhorns handily defeat ULM on Saturday night at DKR. This was Cunningham's first gameday visit to DKR for a night game since he committed to the Longhorns during the summer last offseason.

Cunningham told Inside Texas after the game that he loved the way the defense performed against a ULM offense that only managed a field goal and was held under 150 total yards on Saturday. He said that Texas "dominated" the game like he expected them to.

Cunningham also mentioned that he loves the way the Longhorns defenders "fly around" the field and make plays against the ball carrier.

Malcolm Simpson, DL (Nebraska commit)

One of the top visiting recruits unofficially for Texas for the ULM game at DKR last weekend was four-star Hitchcock (TX) defensive lineman and Nebraska Cornhuskers commit Malcolm Simpson. The blue-chip defensive tackle recruit has emerged as one of Texas's top flip targets at the position in-state in the 2025 class this fall on the trail.

Simpson said after Texas's win over ULM last weekend that the crowd at DKR was a "crazy loud" and that it was a "great atmosphere" on the Forty Acres during gameday.

The Texas visit last weekend seems to have checked many boxes for Simpson. He gave the visit a thumbs up for his experience on the 40 over the weekend and was impressed by the way the defensive line performed on the field against ULM's overwhelmed offensive line.

Simpson is scheduled to make a return trip to for a gameday visit for the Texas-Georgia game at DKR on Oct. 19.
