The biggest of the big humans offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns hosted for an official visit last weekend was the 6-foot-7 and 345-pound four-star offensive tackle Nick Brooks. If we learned one thing coming out of Brooks' official to Texas over the weekend, it's that we should never discount the effect Flood's development can have on "big human" recruits along the offensive line.

Texas wasn't supposed to come out of Brooks' official visit last weekend as the potential leader in his recruitment. But a report from Horns247 on June 17 (paid content) notes that Texas has some serious momentum in the race to land a commitment from Brooks this summer.

A big question mark coming into the weekend for Brooks was how he and his family would react to the big city environment in Austin, coming from a smaller town in Iowa. The big-time blue-chipper from Cedar Rapids (IA) John F. Kennedy High School was reportedly impressed by his experience not only on campus at UT but also in the city of Austin itself.

Brooks' final official visit this weekend will be to the in-state Iowa Hawkeyes to see the school he was once committed to last fall. Texas could very well be the leader in his recruitment entering this critical official visit this coming weekend to Iowa City to see the Hawkeyes.

The Georgia Bulldogs and USC are also heavily involved in this recruitment after Brooks had successful official visit to both schools in the last few weeks.
