4 key visiting recruits impressed by the Texas Elite Camp
Dia Bell, QB
The biggest headline coming into this weekend for the Texas Elite Camp was the two top quarterbacks working out to see who would outshine the other. 2026 QB priorities Dia Bell and Troy Huhn were the two figureheads for the Texas Elite Camp on June 1, with many expecting one of them to end up being the second commitment in this class for the Longhorns.
Bell, the elite five-star quarterback recruit from Fort Lauderdale (FL) American Heritage, is the higher-rated of the two priority signal callers who threw in front of the Texas coaches on June 1. The son of longtime NBA player Raja Bell told On3's Steve Wiltfong that he had a "great visit and camp at Texas".
Dia likes the program and tradition at Texas. He also said that Sarkisian "has had a ton of success with quarterbacks" in his offensive system.
Texas didn't land any commitments from quarterback recruits this weekend. But no other offers were extended to many of the other talented quarterback recruits in the 2026 class that threw for Sarkisian and QB coach AJ Milwee at the Elite Camp this weekend.
Most indications point to Texas giving a slight edge to Bell over Huhn at this point of the offseason.
Troy Huhn, QB
Huhn has been on campus multiple times at Texas for unofficial visits this offseason. The big-arm quarterback from California was back in Austin for the Elite Camp this weekend to work out along with Bell in front of the Texas coaches.
After the visit for the Texas Elite Camp this weekend, Huhn said "it was a great day" and that he enjoyed being around Sarkisian and the Texas coaching staff. He spent time with Sarkisian in a meeting on the afternoon following his workout for the Elite Camp.
It sounds like Huhn is still very much in the mix for the Longhorns. He could reportedly make a return trip to Texas for a game at DKR this fall.
