Quinn Ewers looks completely comfortable running the offense and the pass game

Despite having some hiccups in the first few drives, the Texas offense really picked up the pace starting around the middle of the first half. Ewers led the Longhorns to four straight touchdown drives in the second quarter and early in the second half in the third quarter, including three passing touchdowns of his own.

Even with the up and down start, Ewers still had a tremendous first half passing the football. He registered a regular season career-best 248 passing yards and three passing touchdowns in the first half against Colorado State.

Ewers showed that he had complete command of the offense after he settled into his rhythm throwing from the pocket. He had an insane no-look touchdown throw to junior wide receiver Matthew Golden that really salted the game for the Longhorns late in the first half.

That no-look TD pass likely caught the attention of the multitude of NFL scouts that were in attendance for Texas's win over Colorado State at DKR this afternoon.

Ewers finished up his first game of the 2024 season for the Longhorns with 260 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and one interception. He pretty much did everything he needed to get Texas up big in the first half and then get the backups some valuable live-game reps in the season opener around the halfway point of the third quarter against Colorado State.
