After the most physical day of fall practice to date to start Week 2 of preseason camp on Monday, Texas football put full pads on for the first time on Aug. 6. Tuesday's fall practice saw head coach Steve Sarkisian continue to up the tempo and competitiveness in individual and team drills.

Updates abound for Texas football on both sies of the ball after the first practice in full pads on Tuesday

The media got another viewing window for a sizable portion of the practice on Tuesday. This was the second glimpse for the media to see the Longhorns practicing with more physicality and pads popping during team drills.

The second week of preseason camp is usually when the intensity really picks up. Texas is only a few weeks away from the regular season opener on Aug. 31 against Colorado State. Now is the time for the Longhorns to start getting the two-deep figured out on both sides of the ball for the upcoming regular season.

Here are four takeaways from the Longhorns first practice of fall camp in full pads on Aug. 6.

Battle for the second-team OT reps

Among the real battles along the offensive line depth chart for positioning on the two-deep, most of the big competitions are taking place for second-team practice reps for Kyle Flood and the Longhorns this fall. The second-team offensive tackle spots were up for grabs entering preseason camp, and it looks like some depth chart movement could be just around the corner here.

Orangebloods' Alex Dunlap reported (subscriber content) that sophomore right tackle Andre Cojoe has been pushed by true freshman Brandon Baker for second-team reps along the offensive line early this week.

Baker has reportedly looked good in team drills for the third-team offensive line at the tackle spot since the practices started getting more physical over the weekend. It wouldn't be surprising to see Flood try Baker out with more second-team reps at offensive tackle to give him heightened competition against the second-team defensive line and edge rushers in practice to give him valuable experience in drills.
