The most talked-about true freshman for the Longhorns on the offensive side of the ball since spring practice is former five-star wide receiver recruit Ryan Wingo. The first-year wideout from Missouri has looked like one of the best true freshmen at this position group in all of college football since he exploded during spring ball and in the spring game back in April.

Wingo has given Sarkisian a lot to think about with his top group in the wide receiver rotation entering this upcoming regular season. He, along with senior Silas Bolden, have stolen the show among the wide receivers taking reps with the second-team offense in fall practice.

Horns247's Jeff Howe reported that there's "an argument that can be made that he is the most gifted true freshman Texas has landed" since Roy Williams over two decades ago. That's very high praise comparing Wingo to a former All-American and high-first-round NFL Draft pick in 2004.

Not only has Wingo consistently impressed with his performances in fall practice, but he also made some nice catches during the scrimmage last Saturday.

Something of note from the first half of fall practice is the fact that Arch and Wingo have established some very noticeable natural chemistry with their quarterback-to-wide receiver connection this fall. They had multiple connections in the fall scrimmage last weekend, and have worked well together with the second-team offense in team drills this fall camp.
