Multiple Texas football players will be in action to open up the 2024 college football season action in Week 0 on Aug. 24. While Texas doesn't open up the regular season until Aug. 31 at home at DKR against Colorado State, the fans on the Forty Acres can still follow former Texas players who transferred out of the program during the 2024 offseason.

Where former Texas football transfers are playing in Week 0 of the 2024 season

The biggest game in Week 0 of the 2024 season features the ACC opener with the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles battling the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in a game with College Football Playoff implications possibly on the line.

But that's not the only game for college football fans to get their Week 0 fix after the long offseason. There are roughly a half-dozen other Division I college football games to follow along with the action today.

Here's a look at five former Longhorns transfers who are in action in Week 0 of the 2024 college football season.

Ky Woods, RB (Nevada)

One of the many former Longhorns transfers on this list followed former Texas co-DC/LB coach Jeff Choate to his new post as the first-year head coach of the Nevada Wolf Pack in the Mountain West Conference. A former Texas walk-on at running back who committed to play for Choate with Nevada in 2024 is redshirt sophomore Ky Woods.

Woods spent the first two years of his college career at Texas. He saw action with Texas on special teams last season, taking six snaps with the kick coverage team in three different games. Woods registered one special teams tackle in the regular season finale in a blowout win over Texas Tech last November.

With multiple former Texas transfers in the fold, Nevada and Choate will battle the SMU Mustangs in a primetime Week 0 kickoff slot at 7 p.m. CT on Aug. 24.
